Mondo has been working in Afghanistan since 2008, currently focusing on supporting girls\u2019 education in this extremely challenging context.<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Afghanistan faces one of the world\u2019s largest humanitarian crises, with people forced to cope with multitude crisis at once. In 2025, more than half of the population \u2014 22.9 million people \u2014 are in need of humanitarian assistance. Restrictions on human rights, environmental disasters, and instability caused by the political situation have created conditions where millions of people lack access to basic necessities such as food, safe shelter, healthcare, and quality education. Women and girls are particularly affected, as their human rights are the most restricted.<\/p>\n

Mondo has worked to strenghten the healthcare system in Afghanistan through midwife training and supports the education of women and girls. Since 2012, donations to Mondo have enabled support for the Fatima Zahra Girls\u2019 School in Jalalabad, Nangarhar Province. The school provides six years of education to more than 250 girls from highly vulnerable families.<\/p>\n
