Come join us for discussions from how to create mini-forests in the cities, to how to sue climate disastrous companies and use slam poetry for climate action!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The focus of the Inspired! youth event is to share stories and inspiration of action taken by youth on climate change. The morning session is held face-to-face and it brings together active youth from Estonia for inspiration and discussion sessions on degrowth. In the afternoon, various hybrid workshops led by youth are held, bringing together youth across Europe that have taken action in their communities in the framework of DEAR projects or other initiatives. The afternoon session will conclude with a joint action on COP27.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FOR WHOM?<\/span><\/h5>\n

Sign up for the event if you are interested in taking action on climate – you may consider yourself a climate activist or maybe you are taking your first steps in planning how to raise awareness or take practical action on climate change. <\/span>There will be space to share inspiration, discuss challenges and plan your next actions!\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Please note that the event is in English and no translation will be provided. \nAlaina Wood is a sustainability scientist and climate communicator based out of the United States. Alaina is the founder of\u00a0<\/i>the Garbage Queen<\/a><\/i>, a social media platform dedicated to discussing climate science and solutions to her audience of over 300,000 people, and she is known for debunking climate misinformation and helping young people manage their climate anxiety.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing Kills Like Hunger – how climate change increases conflict globally\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Isabelle Tickel from Concern, <\/span><\/i>Nothing Kills Like Hunger<\/span><\/i><\/a> campaign.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>When we picture conflict, we imagine explosions, violence and bloodshed. What we don’t imagine is the devastation caused by the deadliest weapon of all: hunger. Let’s discuss the ways climate change influences conflict.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Hands on the ground! Growing resilient green spaces to engage people and create impact in our community<\/b><\/p>\n

Ant\u00f3nio Alexandre and Rebecca Mateus, both biologists and part of <\/span><\/i>HortaFCUL<\/span><\/i><\/a>, the informal permaculture group of the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>By 2050, it is estimated that 70% of the population will live in urban areas. In this context, to grow concrete solutions like tiny forests and resilient vegetable gardens in the cities can be a path to engage people and to create resilient and sustainable communities with less impact on natural resources.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The Inspired! youth event is organized as part of\u00a01Planet4All project\u00a0by Mondo, S\u00fcdwind, 11.11.11, Concern, VIDA, ACTED,\u00a0Ayuda en Acci\u00f3n\u00a0and the Estonian Youth Environmental Council, with the participation of DEAR Programme projects from across Europe. The event is co-funded by the DEAR Programme of the EU, Estonian Ministry of the Environment and Estonian Centre for International Development.\u00a0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
