Shopping Bag from Uganda<\/h1>\n

These shopping bags made by Ugandan artisans come in cool African patterns and are perfect for carrying smaller purchases, laptops, notebooks, or even shoes.<\/h4>\n

The handles are long enough for the bag to be worn over the shoulder. Inside, there is a small pocket where you can store your keys\u00a0or mobile phone. A small black textile label with Mondo logo is sewn between the side seams.<\/span><\/p>\n

They operate under the name\u00a0Kampala Disabled Initiatives<\/a><\/strong>, and they own a shop-atelier in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, which was established with help from NGO Mondo and Estonian development assistance. Pictured is one of KDI-s seamstresses, Night Nalwoga (35), who loves working at the atelier, because it has a great atmosphere, and creates the feeling that the women are \u201cdoing their own thing\u201d. Night says that through working together in the cooperation, the women have learned to trust and support each other, work hard, and be more independent.
