PROJEKTID
A Co-Created City: Street Art with the Participation of Ethnic Minorities
Project period: March 2026 – May 2026
Project donor: Tallinna Kultuuri- ja Spordiamet
Project budget: 11 000 €
In May 2026, an international environmental justice conference organized by Mondo and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take place in Tallinn. One of the keynote speakers is Hilda Flavia Nakabuye, the founder of the Fridays For Future movement in Uganda. To help spread the message of environmental justice more widely and over the long term, a street art piece inspired by Hilda will be created in the city of Tallinn, continuing Mondo’s #IShareHerPower campaign.
The aim of the #IShareHerPower campaign is to communicate through street art how strongly climate change affects the daily lives of people in countries with warmer climates and lower income levels. The campaign seeks to highlight the contributions and struggles of female climate activists working for the future in different parts of the world.
The street art piece will be created by Ukrainian artist Viktoria Berežina, and the project will involve ethnic minority communities living in Tallinn in both the creation process and the opening event. As part of the project, a street art workshop will also be held for young people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
