The pot basket is ideal for storing things, as a flower pot cover, and for organizing the home.
The small opening of the basket keeps things nicely hidden inside, whether they are balls of yarn and unfinished crafts or the family’s woolen socks. The basket has a handle woven from straw. The basket in black and natural tones is a lovely splash of color in a Nordic home. Each handmade basket is slightly different in both shape and size, meaning you won’t find another one like it in any other home.

The basket is made of natural veta vera straw. Avoid prolonged use in humid conditions. If the basket loses its shape, moisten it slightly and restore its original shape with your hands. Allow to dry in a well-ventilated room. Colors may fade in direct sunlight. Caution – may produce small splinters!

The basket weavers’ cooperative Yen Pang Basket Weavers was born in the village of Kongo in Northern Ghana in 2014, when Mondo offered local women the opportunity to learn basket weaving. The cooperative, which originally started with 8 women under a mango tree, has now grown to 30 members and, with the help of Mondo and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has adapted a small house where they gather to weave. About half of the weavers are widows whose social status is low, and the vast majority of the women are illiterate. Basket weaving provides them with an important additional income alongside small-scale farming. As Mondo volunteers, designers Triin Kordemets, Anne-Liis Leht, and Piret Meos have helped the women.
