PROJECTS
Enhancing the Digital Capacity of Ukrainian Vocational Education Institutions
Project period: April 2027 – July 2027
Project donor: ESTDEV – Estonian Centre for International Development
Project partners: University of Tartu, Innowise
Project budget: 221 690 €
Mondo supports the development of the Ukrainian vocational education system through a management development programme, the establishment of educational technologist roles, and the enhancement of teachers’ digital competencies to strengthen the capacity of vocational education to provide modern education adaptable to the changes caused by the war.
Recent years have brought significant changes to Ukrainian vocational education. The reform adopted in 2025 aims to create a modern, flexible, and labor market-oriented vocational education system. However, this requires new competencies from school management and teachers. Although the vocational education reform has already brought decentralisation, greater flexibility in vocational education, and an understanding of the importance of integrating digital solutions, the systemic and sustainable implementation of changes remains a challenge.
As a result of Mondo’s project activities, six Ukrainian vocational education institutes have completed a comprehensive development programme, improving change management capacity and the systematic use of digital solutions. In addition, an inclusive school culture has been established, and project writing, management, and crisis management skills have increased.
The direct beneficiaries of the project are six vocational education institues, 24 management team members, six school staff members who completed a micro-degree in educational technology, and teachers at vocational education institutions. The indirect beneficiaries are 1,800 students.
The project is titled “Development Programme for the Leadership of Ukrainian Vocational Education Institutions, Establishment of the Educational Technologist Role, and Digital Competences Trainings for the Teachers“.
