Global dimension in Social Sciences subjects in Formal Education (January 2013 – December 2015)

The aim of the project “Global dimension in Social Sciences subjects” is to integrate DE themes across the Social Sciences curriculum, cooperate with national educational authorities to institutionalize DE in formal education, build a network among DE experts in Latvia, Estonia and the UK and other EU countries, develop a set of DE methodological materials and tools for measuring effectiveness.

The project is implemented by NGO Mondo in Estonia, Education Development center in Latvia and LEEDS DEC (United Kingdom).
 Main activities in Estonia:
  1. DE Study and integration of results in Social sciences.
  2. Development of DE learning materials.
  3. Experience exchange of DE programs and learning materials between schools in Latvia and Estonia.

As a part of the project the conference “Global dimension in Education: current situation and future opportunities” takes place in Riga on 14th of November 2013. From NGO Mondo the conference will be attended by Johanna Helin and Veronika Svištš. Our partner Estonian National Commission for UNESCO is represented at the conference by Secretary General Kerli Gutman. On 15th November 2013 the conducted global education study will be represented in Estonia for the wider public on the global education seminar. 

Total duration of the project is 36 months (January 2013 – December  2015)

Environmental Justice Conference raises questions of Estonia’s role in the climate crisis

The first international environmental justice conference in the Baltics organised by Mondo and Environmental Law Center will take place this Thursday. The event offers an opportunity to discuss what role Estonia, now among the wealthier countries, takes globally to support people in lower-income countries who are already suffering from environmental and climate crises.
