Project „Grass-root campaigns for protecting basic rights

NGO Mondo started a project “Grass-root campaigns for protecting basic rights”, from April 2013. The goal of the project is to raise awareness among young people about basic rights and active citizenship, using multimedia and internet, campaigns, social actions and information events. Mondo will help young people to establish their own documentary movie clubs, help them to set up screenings, will make trainings for young people and teachers and help in implementing social campaigns. Recent studies have shown that rather than participant democracy, Estonian society is described by representational approach. The project gives youth not only chance to shape ones values and interests, but also a platform to actively express and fulfil it. By empowering active citizenship among youth, this project contributes to the development of viable participatory civil society.
