PROJECTS

Psychosocial support to Ukraine

Project period: June 2023 – April 2024

Project donor: ESTDEV — Estonian Centre for International Development

Project partner: NGO Leleka Spokiy.ee

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), up to a quarter of the population of Ukraine is in the risk group for serious mental health problems. At the same time, the demand for mental health care is increasing. As part of this project, Mondo supports the mental health of people in Ukraine through the digital platform Spokiy and mental health first aid training for educators.

During the first six months of the project, 1,000 Ukrainians will receive psychological aid through the digital platform Spokiy developed in Estonia. With Spokiy’s solution, people can get a mental health diagnosis, treatment plan, and online sessions with a psychologist or psychiatrist. The focus is primarily on people living in rural areas who can´t access psychosocial support close to home. This innovative approach improves the availability of mental health services in Ukraine.

As a part of this project, 210 educators from schools in Zhytomyr and Chernihiv oblasts will attend mental health first aid training. These trainings aim to focus on and support the mental health of teachers, as well as teach them to support students who have experienced psychological trauma.
