Globally about 258 million children and youth are out of school. 1 out of 10 children worldwide don’t have access to primary level education. Nearly half of them are girls and young women. Education is one of the main keys to breaking out of poverty – for instance, educated girls earn higher wages as adults and are more informed about taking care of their and their children’s health. 

Mondo works with communities in Burma, Ghana, Lebanon, Kenya, and Uganda where the basic school kit is unfortunately a only a wish for many kids. In many cases this leads to the child dropping out of school. A school bag with supplies eases the burden on families and allows children to continue their education.
